Sticking up for others
The protests by supporters of the Falun Gong in Washington D.C. really caught my attention. I live in a pretty conservative area, and discrimination of anyone who is "different" is not unheard of. Freedom to BE is not a fight that is already won - we need to remain vigilant and we need to stand up for others when we see injustice occur.
I really love this quote by L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the Church of Scientology. He fought for the rights and freedoms of all, and he wrote this about his fellow Scientologists:
“If you champion the dignity and freedom of mankind, you are a Scientologist at heart if not by name,” he once wrote.
“We believe in mankind. We can and are helping man, our countries and society.“We are not ‘one man.’ We are millions and we are everywhere.”
